Spring is finally here. We’re almost sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a couple things that might save you some problems and keep you comfortable in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Omaha and the last thing you want is to uncover is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now might save you from sweating this summer.
- Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost each and every single of our lists of things to check because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often neglected as well. While you're spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried. - Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency. - Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you take on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up lengthens the life of your system and keeps it operating at top efficiency. Spring is the perfect time to set up your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a minimal investment into the life of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 402-509-5940.
